Home Befriending

Our Befriending Service is aimed at lonely and socially isolated people who live in New Mills and the surrounding areas.

Volunteers are recruited as befrienders who will then act as “a good neighbour” by visiting someone in their home and giving them some company, sharing an activity with them or doing small amounts of shopping or other small tasks that will help the person they are befriending.

Telephone Befriending

Social isolation has become a major issue in the UK. If you are feeling isolated or lonely for any reason and would appreciate a weekly telephone call then help is at hand.
