Finding other local support
Not sure where to turn? We can help point you in the right direction
Sometimes it is hard to know who to ask for help, especially when you are not sure what support is available locally.
NMVC can help you find information about local services, groups and organisations in New Mills and surrounding areas. We may not provide the support ourselves, but we can talk through what you need and help point you towards the right place.
What we can help you find
We can help you look for local support with things like:
- Community services
- Wellbeing support
- Social groups and activities
- Health-related support
- Training or employment support
- Sustainable and environmental projects
- Volunteering opportunities
- Other local organisations that may be able to help
How it works
You do not need to know exactly what you are looking for before you contact us.
You can call, email or visit the Centre and tell us what you need help with. We’ll listen, ask a few questions and suggest local services or organisations that may be useful.
If NMVC is not the right place to help, we’ll do our best to point you towards someone who can.

Looking for a local charity or community group?
NMVC also keeps a list of charities, community groups and voluntary organisations across the High Peak.
If you’re looking for a specific type of support, or want to see what else is available locally, this is a good place to start.
